Semi-tubular rivets are a permanent fastener solution with a hole in the lower section of the rivet. Semi-tubular rivets can be set either tight or loose, depending on the application of the rivet. This application of rivets does not swell the body and can be used as pivot points (a joint where movement is preferred) since the swelling of the rivet is only at the end of the body once set. The length of the rivet shank must be long enough to pass through the materials with enough body left over for the clinching process.
